APR 25

The Rev. B.H. Hester was the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg, VA, from 1922 through 1961.  This large-format. lavishly, illustrated, 64-page book documents his courageous social activism event in some very difficult decades.

The story is told by his granddaughter, retired U.S. ambassador Pamela E. Bridgewater.

The official “launch” date for the book is Thursday, April 25.  There will be a festive program at Shiloh Old Site that evening, and Ambassador Bridgewater will be there to sign books and chat about her grandfather.

Pre-ordered copies of the book can be picked up at that time, or you can have you copy mailed to you.  Books can be purchased online through Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) website.  Link here.

Neutral on Nothing is a ‘must read’ chronicle about the social activism of the late Rev. Dr. B.H. Hester, eighth pastor of the historic Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  The Rev. Dr. Hester gave of himself fearlessly, despite potential threats, to make the entire community a better place – and to lift his race.  He never gave up in his pursuit of those things that would strengthen others.  His work lives on because he believed ‘to whom much is given, much is required’ (Luke 12:48).” – The Rev. Dr. Aaron L. Dobynes, Sr., tenth pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site)
