Learn about the hidden legacy of the African American influence and direct contribution to the development and growth of Spotsylvania, Virginia. The cultural heritage event opens with a Libation Ceremony in honor Ancestors of Africa. The ceremony is followed by Greetings from the The John J. Wright Educational and Cultural Center Museum Board of Directors and honored guests.

Then, its off to board the modern day “Stagecoach” for a three-hour Colorful Journey through hallowed ground. Journey by motor coach to various sites along the trail, enjoying the scenery of some of Virginia’s beautiful fall foliage. All participants are engaged through entertaining multi-media, fun docent lead games and history trivia.

Each site is a new experience in African American History. Complete with song, drums and dance for a total immersion in the African American Experience that is Spotsylvania Virginia’s Colourful Journey Through Hallowed Ground.
