Penny A Parrish
About
After careers in journalism and law enforcement, Penny A Parrish enjoys the solitude of working alone with a camera.
She is inspired by simple scenes: the colors of our seasons, small details that others may not notice, and the lines and angles of buildings. She says she still thinks like a film photographer, looking for good angles and setting up individual shots rather than putting the camera on burst and capturing multiple images.
Penny also does her best to “repurpose” old frames, giving them a second life with many of her photos. She also prints her work on canvas and metal.
Penny is a member of Brush Strokes Gallery, 810 Weekend Gallery and the Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts.
She switches back and forth between her Canon and Nikon cameras to capture images, which have won several awards in regional and national shows.
Her works can be seen at several venues in Virginia, Minnesota and Michigan as well as on www.fineartamerica.com (Penny Parrish artist/photographer)
