Hester was the pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg, VA, from 1922 through 1961.  This large-format. lavishly, illustrated, 64-page book documents his courageous social activism event in some very difficult decades. The story is told by his granddaughter, retired U.S. ambassador Pamela E. Bridgewater.
